LUXEMBOURG ART WEEK
GROUP SHOW
november 21 - november 24, 2024
booth d01
We are privileged to participate in the 2024 Luxembourg Art Week, where we proudly present a curated exhibition featuring the exceptional works of Belgian talents Joren Van Acker and Johan Tahon, alongside the abstract landscape paintings by Marcus Leotaud. The exhibition offered a rich and dynamic visual experience, showcasing a unique interplay between contrasting styles and sensibilities.
Joren Van Acker’s large, dark, and intricately layered charcoal drawings formed the backbone of our presentation. His works, with their deep contrasts and layered textures, exuded a sense of mystery and depth, inviting viewers to explore the complex emotional landscapes. The weight of his compositions, combined with the subtlety of his technique, created an atmosphere that was both intimate and thought-provoking.
In stark contrast, Johan Tahon’s powerful but fragile sculptures filled the space with raw emotional energy. His emotionally compelling figurative works, characterized by their tactile surfaces and dynamic forms, conveyed a profound sense of humanity, vulnerability, and strength. Each sculpture told a story of inner conflict, resilience, and expression, offering an immediate, visceral connection to the viewer.
Bringing cohesion to the exhibition, Marcus Leotaud’s stunning landscape works provided a serene counterpoint. Leotaud, hailing from Trinidad and Tobago, presented a breathtaking view of nature that was both vibrant and tranquil. His landscapes offered a moment of calm amidst the intensity of Van Acker and Tahon’s works, creating a harmonious balance that enriched the overall experience.
Together, the works of Van Acker, Tahon, and Leotaud created a dialogue between the dark and light, the emotional and the serene, and the human and the natural. This carefully curated presentation showcased the richness and diversity of contemporary art, highlighting the incredible talents of Belgian and Caribbean artists, and leaving a lasting impression on all who visited our booth at the Luxembourg Art Week.
